DEPARTMENT OF VOTECH
The Pre-vocational Department of the college consists of two units; Visual arts and Home Economics.
Basically, the department aims at inculcating into the teacher trainee, the spirits, skills and knowledge of creativity and lays a strong foundation for self and national development.
The courses offered in the department leads to the total development of the trainees. Such educational values, skills and knowledge acquired prepare trainees adequately to handle Creative Arts and Basic Design and Technology at the Basic School level.
The courses offered in the various units of the department are as follows;
Visual Arts
Currently, the courses under the visual arts unit are;
- Fundamentals in visual Arts (FVA111) which is a core subject for all Level 100 students in the first semester.
- Principles and Methods of Teaching Visual Arts (FVA211) for level 200 Art-Related elective students in the first semester.
- Visual Communication (FVA224) for level 200 Art – Related elective students in second semester.
Home Economics
Currently the home economics unit of the department offers the following courses;
Catering I (FVH122)/SEWING (FVH121) as core subject for all level 100 students in the 2nd semester.
Catering Ⅱ (FVH212)/SEWING Ⅱ (FVH211) as elective for all level 200 students in 1st semester.
